The Bubble Cloud app available for both iOS and Google Android is a leading Bubble shooter and Match 3 app that lets you shoot bubbles down and work your way through the glass ceiling and into the stars.
I wouldn’t describe the game graphics as exactly 3D like advertised. Rather it’s a colorful 2D leveled with depth and sharp contrast that gives the impression of HD optimized for Retina display for iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch. The graphics also look good on most Android Mobile devices. The various options are uncluttered, and the menu is well-hidden in the top left corner, leaving enough room for the main display. The large ‘play’ button in the middle of this screen is conveniently located. The sound effects aren’t anything to brag about though and you can choose to disable them in the menu panel. The score of the graphics is 9/10.
What Is It about?
The Bubble Cloud iOS and Android app requires users to shoot at bubbles in the cloud with bubbles of a similar color, matching them and thus taking them out. Once you’ve popped these, you’ll need to break the glass ceiling and thus add to your star counter. You can aim directly at the bubbles in the cloud, or you can create an alternate trajectory by aiming at the side wall and bouncing the bubble off the wall. This means you have to employ a good amount of strategy to successfully clear all the bubbles. Spin the cloud to improve your chances of a shot. With stars, you can collect boosters and unlock new worlds, and 99 stars will unlock the Infinity level. You can purchase extra spins if you are totally out of options.
The controls are quite seamless and convenient, and you only need to aim by dragging and then tapping to shoot. If you are using the Laser shooter, just aim and fire.
The game is free, but there are in-app purchases that can make your life a little easier especially when progressing up the more difficult levels. These range from the Super Spin at $0.99 to the Laser 100 Pack Ads Free at $34.99. While you can play without these, the ads will definitely be a nuisance, and your progression will be slightly harder.
The app is compatible with Android 4.0 or higher thus it is an app for almost all Android devices. The App Store version will need iOS 8.0 or later. The score is 9.5/10.
To Replay or Not to Replay
The availability of different levels and the fact that you can get boosters and other power-ups make replay a high possibility for me. While you will need in-app purchases to get extra spins if you’re stuck, you can still progress without these. The physics of the game is realistic even at the higher levels where the cloud has a greater mass, and the spin carries greater torque. The latest version offers 22 new levels which give the game high replay value. The score is 10/10.
Is It Good?
I’d definitely recommend the Bubble Cloud App Store or Google Play app for everyone. The gameplay is simple enough though it becomes challenging at the higher levels and you need to purchase boosters. With enough tools and updates to keep the game exciting, this is an app you should have on your device.
