Dominoes is a fun and relaxing way of building your mind and logical capacities by matching tiles and scoring higher than your opponents. Play against bots or real players with this free get on your Google Android with Dominoes by Carl Hopf and see why this game has been so popular in history.

The app has cool, relaxed 2D graphics which are nicely rendered to give a sense of depth to the animations. The graphics are simply designed with several layers of windows and the main dominoes scene having a dark, smooth background. A large screen such as on a tablet will bring all the windows on one screen. The score of the graphics is quite high – 7.5/10.

What is it about?

If you have something to say about this app and make own review – write me.

The aim of dominoes is to be the player with the most matching sets of tiles by adding sets of dominoes. There are three game modes you can play in; Muggins, Block, and Draw. There are 28 tiles marked with 0 to 6 dots, similar to dice. The player then picks the order of play, and once the double tile is set up, the player can start dealing from the set of 7 that he had opened, packing tiles with similar counts on their ends aside.

If the player isn’t able to add a tile for whatever reason, they forfeit their count. The player who deals all their 7 tiles wins and receives points equal to the total count on the remaining tiles of the opponent. In Block mode, play tiles and get points by having the fewest tiles left. One can also draw when blocked, or play all fives with a Spinner.

Choose your play difficulty level and challenge yourself, play against an AI or invite player online to spar with you, and check your ranking on the leaderboard.

The controls on the Google Play app for Dominoes are a simple combination of tap and swipe. This is convenient for smartphone users who might not have too much space on their screens and may be looking to avoid clutter on their play areas.

This version of the game is only available on Android, although another version by Carl Hopf, i.e., Dominoes PlayDrift is available on iOS too.

The Android app is free but offers an ads-free in-app purchase ranging from $1.32 to $3.17 per item. You can play without the in-apps, but your progress through the game levels may be significantly slower.  The score of this point is 8/10.

To replay or not to replay

Maybe I’d play again if they considered making certain amendments to the rolling and the Random Number Generator. It’s fun to play but looks like some of the outcomes are premeditated. I’d say there’s quite a bit of cheating. The controls are however great. I also like the online multiplayer option. The replay value is 5.5/10.

Is it good?

I like the general design of the app and the fact that you have a wide variety of competitors to choose from. However, I doubt these are real competitors although you might not notice this initially when you start playing the game. There are very minimal ads on the app. Carl Hopf also provides players with enough updates to keep the game glitch-free. The latest version has slightly more levels and has new opponents which makes things exciting.

I’d recommend the game as one of the leading versions of dominoes out there but be prepared to be disappointed with the RNG.
