If you are looking for an addictive and exciting match-3 puzzle game that takes you to exotic locations around the world and offers thousands of exciting challenges, the Gummy Drop app for iOS and Android mobile is just for you. With regular additions to the cities, puzzles, and gameboards, you are sure to be glued to your screen with this app.
The graphics on the app are quite colorful and fluid, and they will look good on any iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Google Android device. The graphics are a mix of cartoon and 2D with lots of color depth. The game boards are also quite unique. Although some players have complained that the graphics are changed too frequently which barely gives players time to adjust. The sound effects are also quite pleasant and mesh with the overall theme. The score is 9.5/10.
What Is It about?
Aside from the regular match-3 premise which needs you to match similar tiles to clear the board, the Gummy Drop App Store and Google Play app for Android adds to the excitement by letting you clear the board in time-limited moves. It also offers unique features such as traveling around the world to squish gummies in famous cities, solving puzzles to rebuild them, recreating landmarks and collecting resources to achieve many other objectives.
The app is free to download for both the APK and the IPA, and there are additional in-app purchases that will make your quest a little easier. These range from Big Spender at $0.99 to King at $99.99 and allow you to get in-game money which you can use to purchase power-ups and boosters and unlock new levels.
The app only requires a minimum of Android 3.0. Therefore this is an app for all Android devices. The iOS version of the game runs on iOS 9.0 or later. With the latest version, there’s nothing much to be offered other than 120 new levels. Regular updates also keep the app bug-free. The score is 9/10.
To Replay or Not to Replay
This app offers quite the number of tools to keep it exciting, with thousands of new locations, levels, and different characters. The developers should really consider removing the text prompts that appear when you are in the middle of a game, especially when you are playing a timed level. While the game gives you hints whenever you wait too long to make a move, these random hints that appear take away from the overall experience. I’d definitely replay this game despite these minor drawbacks though. The score is 9/10.
Is It Good?
The game is thrilling and is a different kind of match-3 from what I was used to. Both the iOS and Android versions of the app have very few glitches, which is a big plus for the developers. The variety of locations and the fact that I can accumulate points and rewards without necessarily making expensive in-app purchases is a plus too. This is a fresh match-3 game compared to some that you might be used to which seem to regurgitate ideas and one of the leading apps in that genre. I can recommend Gummy Drop.
